Anchoring

The anchoring system is the last line of defence and must be robust, simple and effective. Too many lightweight boats simply cannot accommodate the equipment required and, therefore, skimp in this essential area. We have used two 200 kilogram High Holding Power Pool anchors each with 140 meters of 20.5mm stud link chain, running through continuously rated 5000kg pull hydraulic windlasses. The whole system weighs in at nearly 4 tonnes and can be operated remotely or from the wheel house as required, with cameras monitoring the stowing of the anchors.
