Stern tube / Shaft

The shaft is 150mm diameter duplex stainless steel running through a water lubricated stern tube assembly with ACM composite bearings and Maprom GS seals. The system was chosen for its robust simplicity, minimal maintenance requirements and the fact that it can never leak oil into the sea.
